His Royal Highness, the Acting Governor of Riyadh Region, is sponsoring the KAUST Challenge Ceremony "Shaping the Future of Media" today.

The Acting Governor of Riyadh, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Abdulaziz, is sponsoring this evening (Saturday) the 30th of October, a special ceremony to be held for the KAUST Challenge “Shaping the Future of Media”, implemented by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in partnership with Asbar World Forum, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh, in the presence of a considerable number of dignitaries and media professionals.

The ceremony is scheduled to include many segments, starting with a tour of His Royal Highness in the accompanying exhibition, then the oratory ceremony begins with the playing of the Royal Anthem, which will be followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, then a speech by Dr. Najah Ashry, Deputy and Senior Associate to the President of KAUST University for Strategic National Advancement, followed by a speech by Dr. Fahad Al Orabi Al Harthy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asbar World Forum, followed by a speech by Dr. Tony Chan, President of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.

The events of the ceremony also include announcing the names of the winners to be honored by His Royal Highness the Acting Governor of Riyadh, who will award them with prizes, in addition to honoring the strategic partners and sponsors, followed by honoring His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud by the event’s organizers.

The ceremony will include an exhibition which will shed the light on the latest research, ideas and concepts that are related to knowledge curiosity and ambition, and the development of innovative and ambitious solutions that contribute to resolving the challenges faced by various sectors, in addition to stimulating ideas capable of supporting economic growth in the Kingdom through knowledge.

The KAUST Challenge, "Shaping the Future of Media", witnessed the participation of more than 700 creators and innovators from 37 countries from around the world, whose work was evaluated by a jury of 28 scientific personalities from inside and outside the Kingdom. About 15 of them were selected as semi-finalists, to be filtered in the final stage to three contestants, who succeeded in presenting a set of ideas and creative media solutions, which are expected to be converted into large investment projects that will be adopted by institutions specialized in providing support and guidance, including: “Facebook, “Google” and Microsoft" among others.
