His Highness the Acting Governor of Riyadh Region Patronizes the KAUST Challenge Ceremony "Shaping the Future of Media"

The Acting Governor of Riyadh, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, will sponsor the ceremony, which will be held on the occasion of the “KAUST Challenge” competition, which is implemented by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in partnership with the Asbar World Forum, under the title “Shaping the Future of Media”, on Saturday evening 30 This October at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh.

On this occasion, Dr. Najah Ashry, Deputy and Senior Co-President of KAUST for Strategic National Progress: "A healthy innovation ecosystem is an increasingly important component for our nation in creating a knowledge economy, as well as attracting international investment, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030." Noting that the challenge that we have been hosting over the past two years has achieved tremendous success in terms of creating new and innovative ideas, complementing our efforts to maximize our contribution to diversifying the Kingdom's economy and transforming it into a knowledge-based economy."

Ashry expressed her gratitude to the strategic partners and sponsors who lend credibility to the challenge and said, “This competition is not only about selecting the winners, but also about benefiting all participants with deep expertise, tailored support, and guidance from the leading global and local stakeholders in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.”

For his part, said Dr. Fahad Al-Harthi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asbar World Forum, said that such events can stimulate the development of the country’s intellectual capital apart from advancing the digital media ecosystem,” adding that a well-developed ICT sector has become an integral part of the current industrial activities. As envisaged in Vision 2030, which aims to transform the Kingdom into an information and communication technology center capable of competing globally, with modern technologies and empowered information society.”

Dr.  Dr. Fahad Al-Harthi confirmed. that the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 is still a driving force for holding a competition focused on digital technology, as the government cooperates with the private sector to modernize the ICT infrastructure, strengthen the regulatory framework to enable new innovative investments, and create the best ecosystem to support digital entrepreneurs and talent.

The event will be attended by a large number of officials, dignitaries, media professionals, and the media concerned.
